Simon is a bass guitar, upright bass and synth bass player based in South London. His solid musical technique and musicality means he is comfortable in almost any genre from musical theatre to rock. He has worked alongside some of the industries top session musicians. Simon has been musical from a young age. Starting with the trumpet and later the tuba he then moved onto the bass and guitar. After graduating from Southampton Solent University in 2009 with a BA Hons in Popular Music & Record Production he then went on to become an Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) in Popular Music Performance whilst studying at Tech Music Schools under the tuition of some of the UK's top session players. He has since carved out a session career of his own working with the likes of Steve Down (Sandi Thom, Joss Stone), Ed Drewett (The Wanted), Matt Beckingham (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Sage Gateshead, Phoenix Singers, OneSound), Greenbelt Festival, Sacrebleu The Cabaret (house band), Croydon Music & Arts, Sutton Music Service. Simon has also played for productions of various musicals including, Les Miserables, Fame, Footloose, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, A Chorus Line, Assassins, The Wedding Singer, Chess, We Will Rock You, Sweet Charity and Guys & Dolls.
He is able to play in many different genres including soul, funk, blues, pop, rock, R 'n' B and musical theatre. He is also an arranger and musical director who is comfortable working in these genres. Simon is a focused and reliable musician who aims to become an established name in his trade.
